Macheda’s Celebrations Cut Short

Posted by Keano! on May 17, 2009

United teenager and saviour against Aston Villa and Sunderland had a night of celebration cut short when he was “Kiko”ed out of The Living Room, a nightclub in Manchester where the team opted to celebrate, due to his age. He was forced to leave the party and head home as his team mates celebrated an 18th league title.

The Italian is only 17 years of age and you must think that had he not been a United player, not made such headlines and have his age printed all over the media, the he’d have been allowed in because, to be honest, he has aged well, with a number around 24 or 25 more appropriate to his age perhaps?

Macheda saved United twice when a draw was on the cards, at home to Aston Villa when he scored one of the goals of the season at Old Trafford and then an instinctual flick at the Stadium of Light to grab all 3 points.

Due to his 3 appearances in the league, Kiko doesn’t qualify for a Premier League medal which is quite sad considering the memories he’s left in United’s fans minds as they look back on a long and hard fought season. Despite that, manager Sir Alex Ferguson will apparently seek a medal for people who played a part in the season, so Wes Brown, Ben Foster, Danny Welbeck, Zoran Tosic and ofcourse Macheda may just find themselves with a winners medal.

As a reward for his contribution this season, the News of the World reports that manager Sir Alex Ferguson is to commission special Premier League winner’s medals which he will distribute to his fringe players.

Macheda is expected to start up front for United alongside Danny Welbeck at The KC next Sunday as United will send a much weakened force with the Champions League final in Rom days away.
