Rome 09: It’s A Case Of The “White Devils”

Posted by Keano! on May 18, 2009

Manchester United will wear their all white kit with blue trim in their Champions League final appearance in Rome next week. Barcelona, as the recognised “home” team from the draw, will line out in their traditional clue and red kit with United being forced to changed to avoid any colour clashes.

United wore all blue in ‘68 when Best and Sir Bobby shone, red in ‘99 when Ole wrote the history books and red again last time out in ‘08 when it all went to penalties.

A little note to keep in mind as a United fan would be that United wore white when they last lost a game in the Champions League back when AC Milan taught us a footballing lesson in the San Siro 2 seasons ago.

So should we go onto lift the famous trophy in just over a weeks time at the Stadio Olympico in Rome, it will be the “White Devils” in the history books.

MUN will be publishing articles up to and after the Champions League final. If you wish to keep a tag on them, look out for the tags, “Rome 09”
