Manchester City Council have confirmed that if Manchester United beat Barcelona in the Champions League final on May 27th, that the team will be allowed to have a parade through Manchester 24 hours after the game.

United’s plans for a parade after last years triumph in Rome were thwarted after the Greater Manchester Police (GMP),

and the Manchester City Council called it off after clashes between Rangers fans and GMP shortly before the Champions League final.

This season will see United parade their silverware, but only if they beat Barcelona. Spokesperson for the Manchester City Council, and life-long Manchester United fan Mike Amesbury claimed,

We’d be delighted to see the team now go on and win the Champions League and celebrate in the appropriate way with a parade through the city

Lets hope to see an open top bus trudging through Manchester with a gleaming Champions League trophy held aloft from the front in just over a weeks time.
