Tevez Heading Back To Manchester?

Posted by Keano! on June 1, 2009

Carlos Tevez will be returning to Manchester according to The News Of The World, although not in the colours of United, instead switching to cross-town rivals, Manchester City. The paper has claimed that City are willing to out bid clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid to secure Tevez’s signature.

Tevez who didn’t travel back to Manchester with the team from the Champions League final in Rome has stated that it would be difficult to return to Old Trafford and many are expecting him to be at a new club come the first league game of 2009/2010.

Tevez’s price tag is set at around £32M which Manchester City are more then able to afford as the richest club in the world. They feel that they will be able to out bid any other contract offers Tevez is approached with due to their foreign owners cash funds.

City would be dealing with Tevez’s economic rights owner, Kia Joorabchian who owns both Tevez and Javier Mascherano’s contracts effectively. Joorabchian has said that he is willing to listen to all offers and as long as the £32M price is met, he will have no problems dealing with whatever club approaches.

Real Madrid and Liverpool were supposedly the leading candidates to sign him up but it appears now that its rivals Manchester City who are now leading the pack. Should Tevez head to “Middle” Eastlands this Summer he will be turning down the chance to team up with lifelong companion Javier Mascherano at Liverpool, and saying hello to International rival’s Robinho and Elano the two Brazilians.

Despite City finishing outside of the European spots, Tevez may accept an offer as the wages proposed are second to none it seems as City look to splash the cash and attempt to lure a United player into the blue of Manchester City.

Updates on the Tevez situation and other transfers surrounding United will follow as the Summer progresses.
