Perez: Next Up, Ronaldo!

Posted by Keano! on June 4, 2009

Real Madrid’s new president who was once responsible for the famous Galactico’s at Madrid has stated that he will look to bring the worlds best to Madrid this Summer. Florentino Perez who looks set to complete a €65M deal for Kaka from AC Milan has wasted no time in indicating where his attention will turn to next, and it is of course, Cristinao Ronaldo.

Despite Real being a little more quiet this Summer and United adamant Ronaldo won’t be going anywhere, the deal is surfacing again with Perez reportedly committed to paying £80M to United to secure Ronaldo’s signature. Ronaldo recently said he was unsure where he would be next season after defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League final. Real are apparently going to bide their time this Summer rather then taking last seasons bullish approach with offers ever second day almost.

Speaking to Antenna 3, Perez said,

“Nothing will happen this week. But I am going to work so that Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo will be at Real Madrid,” he said.

“To work on this matter is not easy and with the pressure that we have on us, it is going to be very difficult.”

Perez claimed he had not been told anything on a pre-agreed contract by the former interim chief and believes that if Ronaldo does sign this Summer, then it will have been his work.

“I’ve been here for two and a half days but neither (Vicente) Boluda nor anyone else has spoken to me about this agreement,” claimed Perez

“What would be really good is that these great players can be here at Madrid this season, and Cristiano would be one of them.”

Its looking like United fans are going to have to go through another Summer debating on whether Ronaldo will stay or go, and if United should accept a staggering £80M offer rumoured

Would you take £80M for Ronaldo this Summer? Results to be revealed at a later date.
