A Tiger In Campbell?

Posted by Keano! on June 7, 2009

United youngster, Frazier Campbell who spent all of the 2008/2009 season on loan at Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur as part of the Dimitar Berbatov move, could well see himself playing his football at the KC for Phil Brown and Hull City next season.

The Englishman was a massive influence on the Hull side when they gained promotion to the Premier League in 2007/2008 scoring 15 goals in 34 appearances for the Tigers. He rejected Hull at the start of last season and ended up going to Tottenham Hotspur where he didn’t really have much success despite scoring twice against Liverpool in the Carling Cup.

Stoke City, Sunderland and Fulham are also said to be interested in capturing the highly rated 21 year-old. Campbell will be aware of the competition for places at United with young guns, Federico Macheda and Danny Welbeck catching Fergie’s eye last season.

Campbell scored United’s winner against Espanyol at the start of last season when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer featured in his testimonial game at Old Trafford, and it’s believed that a cool £6M will see Sir Alex accept offers for Campbell’s signature.

Phil Brown said,

"It’ll be tight as I know Stevie Bruce, Tony Pulis and Roy Hodgson are admirers,”

on Hull’s chances of making the deal.

Manchester United’s Angolan striker, Manucho, was on loan at Hull for the season just gone by and Hull are apparently preparing a bid to sign him permanently.
