United Raid Brazil

Posted by Keano! on June 8, 2009

Brazilian starlet Dodo is looking set to join Manchester United this Summer in a move which will see the 17 year old join up with International teammates Rafael & Fabio Da Silva. Dodo, who currently plays with Corinthians, is expecting the move to be complete this Summer he said and it has extracted angry comments from Carlos Alberto, 1970 World Cup Winner.

Alberto was angered that big clubs like United were poaching around and snapping up young talent for pittance when the same player would sell for considerably more in the bigger market. But since the level of finances isn’t as high in South America, they gratefully accept the “low” offers from the worlds best.

Alberto said,

“It is disgraceful United are allowed to do this to Brazilian football. The big teams have the money and can take our best players. It is a big problem in Brazil,” said Alberto

“The clubs cannot keep good young players because they can make much more money in other countries. They should change the law so, at least until the age of 20 or 21, the best players play in Brazil and get experience before moving to Europe. FIFA must do something,” he concluded.

Sir Alex Ferguson has reported transfer relations with Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon, and South American outfits, Corinthians and Fluminense which allows Ferguson to have first option on buying players from the club should they be up for sale or offers from elsewhere made.

Dodo who is a central defender is tipped to be one of the best around and could see himself starting for United in seasons to come if he progresses well.

This appears to be United’s first likely buy this Summer with other reports linking Antonio Valencia, Klass Jan Huntelaar, Frank Ribery and Karim Benzema all linked
