Title Defence Starts At Home – Birmingham City

Posted by Keano! on June 17, 2009

The Premier League fixtures for 2009/2010 have been released and Manchester United will kick off their campaign at home against newly promoted Birmingham City on August 15th.

Due to The FA and the Premier League being very nit-picky about the list of fixtures, MUN cannot publish the list in full as it would be breaking the strict copyright they are enforcing on it. We can however look at the entire list and pick out the juicy fixtures.

As said, Birmingham will be the team United face on day one and the rest of August will see us play away at Turf Moore against Burnley, away at the JJB where we won the title two seasons ago and virtually clinched it last time around and the final game of the month is scheduled to be at Old Trafford, against the first big hitter and it is the team which we claimed the title against last season…Arsenal.

The Christmas area is always a tricky one for teams and United’s is has a few pot holes, but you would expect us to come through it with the majority of the points. Between December 5th and January 9th, United will face,

West Ham A
Aston Villa H
Wolverhampton Wanderers H
Fulham A
Hull City A
Wigan Athletic H
Birmingham City A

The run in is undoubtedly a tough area for us this year and if you take potential quarter-finals, semi finals and finals in Europe and the FA Cup, it really does make it look harder. Tradition is that we finish strong. Well, if that is the case, it will have to be stronger then ever before unless the challengers fall away a lot earlier then everyone would expect.

From Saturday, March 20th to May the 9th we will play,

Liverpool H
Bolton Wanderers A
Chelsea H
Blackburn Rovers A
Manchester City A
Tottenham Hotspur H
Sunderland A
Stoke City H

The big ones are set for these dates but they WILL be changing. This list is only a guide really and not the set one, yet.

Sat Aug 29 Arsenal H
Sat Sep 19 Manchester City H
Sat Oct 24 Liverpool A
Sat Nov 7 Chelsea A
Sat Jan 30 Arsenal A
Sat Mar 20 Liverpool H
Sat Apr 3 Chelsea H
Sat Apr 17 Manchester City A
