United Move For Valencia

Posted by Keano! on June 7, 2009

According to reports from SkySports News, Manchester United have made a bid in excess of £16M for Wigan Athletic’s Antonio Valencia. It is understood that Spanish giants, Real Madrid, are going to challenge United’s bid for the Ecuadorian as he was apparently high on Florentino Perez’s list of “I want him and him…”

After a rather disappointing two seasons at United, Portuguese man Nani is seemingly second fiddle now to Ji-Sung Park and can’t get too much of a look-in these days at United. Sir Alex is supposedly willing to listen to offers for Nani as he looks to bring Valencia to Old Trafford.

Nani Optimistic About United Future

Posted by Keano! on June 3, 2009

Much maligned Winger, Nani has stated that he is happy at United and insists he is going nowhere despite reports that Sir Alex is going to offload some of his squad. Nani who didn’t play as big a part in United’s season as he did last year will feel he could have played more often in the season gone by, but despite the lack of games coming his way, he still loves it at the club.

The Portuguese has 6 goals and 4 assists to his name for the 2008/2009 campaign with some stunning goals it has to be said. Despite these stats, United fans aren’t entirely impressed with his lack of end product and consistency, some believing he is trying too hard to copy his fellow countryman Cristiano Ronaldo.

Posted by Keano! on May 29, 2009

Sir Alex Ferguson is was known for his apparent trademark “hairdryer” treatment at halftime and fulltime in the dressing room toward his team when he witnessed not a bad day at the office, just a skipping work show more like. Well the wise old fella wasn’t in the mood for this course of action in Rome after United’s dismal performance against Barcelona which saw Ferguson loose his first Champions League final.

Speaking to SkySports reporter, Geoff Shreeves after the game, a man who was inside the dressing room after the match, who witnessed arguably the games most successful manager deliver his final words of the season, revealed the chilling words Sir Alex laid down,

Tevez, Nani & Park Set To Leave?

Posted by Keano! on May 29, 2009

Manchester United may be about to get rid of four first team players after Ferguson admitted that the team would be re-shaped after the final loss in Rome last Wednesday. Carlos Tevez who didn’t return to Manchester with the United squad is now a free agent as his two year loan deal with United ended when United’s dreams of lifting the Champions League trophy for the second successive season came to an end.

According to The Daily Mirror Tevez looks a sure certainty to be playing his work-horse style football elsewhere next season, but a surprise claim that Ji-Sung Park could be on his way out have surfaced too. Park who scored some notable goals this season, such as Chelsea away and Arsenal away in the Champions League, was thought to be a favourite of Sir Alex’s but the South Korean may see himself moved on to make way for a well known United target in Antonio Valencia of Wigan Athletic.

Hull City 0-1 Manchester United

Posted by Keano! on May 24, 2009

This was a game all about Hull City where the Champions had the luxury of fielding a completely revamped team while having only the pressures of a Champions League final ahead.

Hull needed to match or better Newcastle United’s score line at Villa Park and despite loosing at home to United, they stayed up in the Premier League, as Newcastle United went down to Villa by one goal, and that goal being an own goal by Damien Duff.
