Neville Dismisses Boro Link

Posted by Keano! on June 15, 2009

Gary Neville has committed his future to the Red Devil’s, rubbishing reports that he could be about to drop to the Championship with Middlesbrough who are searching for valuable experience. Of ‘that’ generation, only Giggs, Scholes and Gary Neville remain, with Butt, Beckham and Philip Neville all leaving the nest. Giggs and Scholes have been lauded with praise over the last year and more with few recognising how important the club captain has been.

Dressing Room Camaraderie Eases Pain – Rio

Posted by Keano! on June 7, 2009

Rio Ferdinand has spoken of his belief that the friendships and banter among the current crop of United players will ease the pain suffered in Rome last month when Barcelona basically taught Manchester United a lesson for 80 minutes.

Ferdinand who is  a clear leader in the United setup has to look like the leader on and off the pitch and these comments add to it. Speaking to ChannelBee.com, Rio unveiled all with regards to who are the dressing room jokers and whose names are usually found at the end of a dressing room prank, and that when the laughing and joking knows no barriers with his teammates, there is a clear one with Ferguson which they have to respect says Rio,

Roo A Future Center Mid?

Posted by Keano! on June 1, 2009

Wayne Rooney, a man who typifies the term passion, work and endeavour. The 23 year old has made a massive name for himself becoming one of Manchester United’s most liked players down through the years, and he played his trade on Merseyside before making the switch which has seen the forward move onto new levels.

As a forward though, he has never and I doubt he will ever be a prolific goals corer like your Ole Gunnar Solskjaers, Ruud Van Nistelrooys and the like. For me and almost every other United fan, Wayne Rooney’s best role is playing just behind a front man who can play on the last defender and link the midfield and attack. That is where Rooney’s abilities are being used to the max I feel

Stoke Ready To Approach Scholes?

Posted by Keano! on May 29, 2009

Stoke City are apparently ready to approach Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes with a player-coach deal according to The Daily Mail. Scholes who doesn’t hold down a regular starting position at United these days said that the upcoming season could well be his last and he is very interested in coaching with a view to management in his future.

This offer from Stoke may tempt Scholsey, as he would start much more games then he would at United and it will also give him an “in” to the coaching world. It’s thought he would reject the offer from Stoke who were bookies favourites to be relegated at the start of the season, but Tony Pulis has steered clear of the drop zone and wants to strengthen his team to tackle next seasons challenge.

Rome 09: Barcelona 2-0 Manchester United – A Footballing Lesson

Posted by Keano! on May 27, 2009

All the build up midweek, all over the world was tipping Manchester United, the holders of the Champions League and English Champions, but how could we have got it so wrong? Barcelona handed us a footballing lesson and surprisingly it doesn’t pain me to say, well done Barcelona, the new European Champions, and winners of the Spanish treble.

It was the dream final according to everyone, it was the dream performance by Barcelona but a nightmare of a display from the “White Devils”, who didn’t shed a tear after the game as they all simply knew they hadn’t shown up and were consequently beaten by a better team, who by the way were missing 3 of the preferred back four.

Scholes Has One More Year

Posted by Keano! on May 26, 2009

Manchester United veteran, Paul Scholes, has claimed that next year may well be his last season with United. The ginger haired midfielder has been a long servant to the club but with niggling injuries creeping into his routine and irregular appearances on the pitch, Scholes feels that his career has come to an end and he will more then likely finish next season.

After recovering from a serious eye problem a few seasons back, Scholes has since won the Champions League as well as a few leagues and he may well lift another Champions League honour on Wednesday.

I’m Not The Player I Used To Be – Scholes

Posted by Keano! on May 24, 2009

Paul Scholes has claimed that he doesn’t feel worthy of a place in the team for the Champions League final coming up. Scholes who hasn’t featured as prominently as he did in previous seasons believes that there is no room for sentiment and Sir Alex should send out a team without him in it to face the Catalans.

The Englishman, retired from International duties has said through The Sun that he’d be happier to start on the bench out of ability and form, then play from the first whistle out of sentiment. Scholes who doesn’t often make an appearance in the media had this honest and very respectable interview which began,
